Ground Your Body, Mind and Soul

Hi Beautiful Soul, 

My vision is to create a space in the great outdoors to teach people different ways to meditate but mainly in the way of mindfulness. 

What IS mindfulness????

John Kabat-Zinn, one of the most popular western writers on this topic and creator of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR), defines mindfulness as “the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally” (Kabat-Zinn, 1994).

While hiking back from a waterfall in 2020 in the Smoky Mountains, I realized I had missed all the beauty in the present moment in my haste to reach the waterfall. Something compelled me to stop walking. In that moment, I turned in a slow deliberate circle taking in EVERYTHING surrounding me. I was blown away at my reality. Moved to tears, I felt deep gratitude for this moment of clarity. I was overcome with the connection to the earth I felt. I was left with a peace and joy I knew I had to share with anyone willing to join me. I am tearing up right now again from the memory of this defining moment. I was reminded of how I miss life at times by being focused on what's next instead of what's happening RIGHT NOW. Truly, the present moment is all we have in life.


Many negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, depression, regret, guilt and anger are the result of focusing on the past or future, robbing us of the real joy before us. Life will ultimately pass us by when we focus on anything outside of the present moment. 


Beauty in the present moment surrounds us all, we just need to STOP and pay attention to all the moments as they unfold. Being mindful gives us an opportunity to really enjoy and embrace life. Letting go of everything else outside of the present moment is key in our search for peace and happiness. Mindfulness is the ultimate in FREEDOM from pain and suffering. 

Come on a meditation hike with me. Learn ways to be mindful in your everyday life while experiencing the peace and awe inspiring beauty of nature. 

Meditation Hikes will be offered with beginner hikers and beginner meditators in mind. All levels are welcome. In addition to mindfulness practices an opportunity to learn about and experience the benefits of grounding/earthing will be included in all hikes. Hikes for families, individuals a well as special couples hikes are available. ​
